If your university’s IT/cybersecurity team has raised concerns about your Win10 OS Dexterit-E Computer, please rest assured your version of Windows is still supported and will continue to receive security updates! You MUST NOT upgrade to Windows 11 until Kinarm indicates that we can support it. As of today, we do NOT support Win11.
The version of Windows installed on the Dexterit-E Computer is designated as IoT LTSC, or Long Term Service Channel. IoT LTSC is a variant of Windows Enterprise designed for special-purpose devices or embedded systems where a stable, predictable operating system is needed. It receives security updates but not new feature updates, ensuring a consistent and reliable experience.
IMPORTANTLY: IoT LTSC versions have an extended support life from Microsoft. Depending on the ship date of your Dexterit-E computer, your Windows 10 IoT LTSC has support until either January 9, 2029 or January 13, 2032.
To find out your version go to: File Explorer > This PC, right click Properties.
Kinarm will provide a Windows 11 Upgrade kit coincident with the release of Dexterit-E 3.12, expected Fall 2026.
