Transferring a MATLAB license depends on the license type. If it is a site license (i.e. that the university owns and manages, then you will have to contact them). If it is an individual license, then it is done through that MathWorks website. You have to log in to your MathWorks account and select the correct License (i.e. you may have more than one license for your lab). Then you can click on the Install and Activate tab. It will list the various computers that the license has been activated for. Individual licenses can have up to 4 activations. You will want to deactivate the one for the old PC (the Activation labels are MAC IDs – go to the command prompt and type ipconfig to see that various MAC addresses for the computer).   You will then have to install MATLAB on the new PC and follow the instructions that MATLAB provides for activating the new computer. Be sure to follow the various instructions in our Creating Task Programs Guide for setting up MATLAB correctly.
